ASMedia ASM2362 controller, which is the controller you want — actually saturates 10Gbps, doesn’t throttle aggressively, supports TRIM passthrough on Linux. Aluminum housing acts as a heatsink for sustained writes; we tested 1TB Samsung 980 Pro under sustained 4K random write and it stayed under 65°C for the full 30 minutes.
UASP supported. NVMe SSD not included — use any 2280 or 2242 NVMe drive.
